Overhead Crane/Machine Operator/Loader

About the Role: As a Loader at Bianco Reinforcing, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe movement of reinforcing steel products within our yard and warehouses. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, managing inventory, and supporting general yard operations. Key Responsibilities: Operating Overhead Cranes: Safely and efficiently operating overhead cranes for loading, unloading, and moving reinforcing steel bundles and bar. Forklift Operation: Operating forklifts for the movement of smaller steel products, accessories, and general yard duties. Loading and Unloading: Accurately and safely loading outgoing trucks for delivery and unloading incoming raw materials and finished goods. Inventory Management: Assisting with the organisation and management of reinforcing steel inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and easy accessibility. Bundling and Strapping: Preparing reinforcing steel bundles for transport, including strapping and securing loads to ensure safe delivery. Quality Control: Conducting visual inspections of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure quality standards are met. General Yard Duties: Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, assisting with general housekeeping, and undertaking other tasks as required to support the production and dispatch teams. Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and participating in safety briefings. Team Collaboration: Working effectively as part of a team to achieve daily production and dispatch targets. Skills and Experience Required: Having a forklift license is highly desirable Prior experience in a steel processing, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment is highly regarded. Strong understanding of safe lifting and loading practices. Ability to read and interpret delivery dockets and pick lists accurately. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
