Principal House Officer/Registrar - Acute Surgical Unit, Queensland Health Join the Acute Surgical Unit as a PHO/Registrar. Metro South Health is seeking a dedicated Principal House Officer / Registrar to join the Acute Surgical Unit at Logan Hospital. This temporary full-time role (76 hours per fortnight, February 2026 - January 2027) provides high-quality surgical care under senior supervision in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. Your new role: In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical care to surgical patients while supporting safe, effective clinical services across the Acute Surgical Unit. Key responsibilities include: Managing the assessment, investigation, treatment and documentation of surgical patients under senior medical supervision. Performing examinations, procedures and coordinating investigations, ensuring accurate and timely clinical records. About you: You are a committed and capable medical officer who demonstrates strong clinical judgement, communication skills and a patient‑centred approach to surgical care. We are looking for someone who: Shows maturity, empathy, strong time management and effective communication with patients. Demonstrates sound clinical knowledge and skills in general surgery with the ability to manage competing clinical priorities. Values teamwork and collaborates openly with multidisciplinary colleagues to support safe patient care.
