Maxam Australia is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in the critical role of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and Security (HSEQS) Advisor. Your Role As our HSEQS Advisor, you will be instrumental in promoting a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, quality assurance, and security across all facets of our operations. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders at all levels to implement and enhance HSEQS strategies, policies, and initiatives. Responsibilities Health and Safety: Developing and implementing safety programs, conducting audits, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a safe working environment. Environment: Driving environmental sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting eco-friendly practices. Quality Assurance: Establishing quality standards, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement in our processes and products. Security: Overseeing security protocols, managing risks, and safeguarding our assets and operations. Operational Excellence: Conducting incident investigations, analysing data to improve safety and operational efficiency. Requirements Minimum 3 years of operational HSEQS experience, preferably in high-risk or heavy industry environments (e.g., manufacturing, explosives, DG, or mining). Proven understanding of Safety-II principles and contemporary risk management approaches. Demonstrated competence in incident investigation, including ICAM methodology and root cause analysis. Working knowledge of HOPE principles and practical experience embedding behavioural safety concepts. Strong understanding of Dangerous Goods (DG) and Major Hazard Facility (MHF) compliance frameworks. Familiarity with ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 standards, and experience supporting certification audits. Experience facilitating and documenting risk assessments and critical control verifications. Professional membership with the Australian Institute of Health & Safety (AIHS) or equivalent recognised body. Ability to travel regularly within Australia. Preferred Qualifications Workplace Training and Assessment Certificate (TAE40116) or equivalent qualification. Diploma in Work Health and Safety or higher qualification. Relevant qualifications in HSEQS or related fields. Experience specifically within the quarrying and mining industries. Why Maxam Australia?
