The Role Whitsunday Anglican School is seeking an Instrumental Music Teacher (Brass and/or Woodwind) to join our vibrant Performing Arts Faculty. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high‑quality instrumental tuition to students across a range of year levels, fostering technical excellence, musicality, and a love of performance by nurturing musicianship, performance skills, and a lifelong appreciation of music in students of all ages and abilities. A Brass specialist is preferred, and the ability to teach Classroom Music is highly desired. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in teaching either brass or woodwind instruments to an advanced level. Graduates are welcome to apply Key Responsibilities Provide individual and small group tuition in brass and/or woodwind instruments Deliver engaging and inspiring music tuition to students Collaborate with other music staff on School events, concerts and recitals Prepare students for performances, events, AMEB examinations, and ensemble participation Direct or assist with bands and ensembles Inspire excellence and engagement through creative, high‑quality teaching and performance opportunities Showcase your own skills through involvement and participation in school events, muscials, and internal and external concerts Foster a positive, inclusive, and fun learning environment that encourages students of all abilities to thrive Maintain accurate student progress records and provide regular feedback back to students and parents Skills and experience Ability to work collaboratively with Music Staff, delivering music programmes across the School AMusA and/or AMEB qualifications or relevant tertiary qualifications in your musical field of expertise QCT registration or ability to obtain will be highly regarded Proven ability to teach brass and/or woodwind instruments to an advanced level Demonstrated high‑level organisational, networking and problem‑solving skills A team player with strong interpersonal skills, who has the ability to engage and inspire Proven ability to prepare students for AMEB examinations Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain) Expressions of interest should be addressed to: The Principal, Mr Andrew Wheaton Role to commence: January 2026 Applications with a cover letter should be made via the SEEK portal.
