About the Project John Holland, Stantec and KBR are partnering with Sydney Water in an Alliance to deliver the North-West Treatment Hub – a brownfield treatment program that will commence with a $500 million upgrade of Rouse Hill and Riverstone wastewater treatment facilities. The project will achieve circular economy outcomes, increasing recycled water production, improving the quality of wastewater byproducts for reuse, and leveraging innovative treatment technologies that reduce carbon footprint. Upgrades will support the treatment of a further 45 megalitres of wastewater each day, to cater for growing northwest communities. The Project will deliver a new state-of-the-art biosolids facility at Riverstone, with new technology to improve the quality of wastewater byproducts. Key Responsibilities The primary objective of this position is to support the People and Culture Team with the operational HR delivery, ensuring that HR policies, programs and initiatives are delivered consistently across the business Provide comprehensive support across all human resource functions as directed by People & Culture Manager. Assist in the implementation of HR policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including candidate engagement and liaison with external agencies as required. Facilitate onboarding processes for new employees, which may include scheduling and coordinating induction programs. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and the broader business community. Prepare HR-related documentation, presentations, and reports, including statistical data for employees and managers. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records using appropriate systems and software. Generate reports from various databases as required, covering areas such as absenteeism, leave management, training, licenses, qualifications, and performance metrics. Provide assistance with payroll, benefits administration, and compensation processes. Support apprentices and trainees during onboarding and throughout secondments. Coordinate probation review processes, including issuing and tracking relevant documentation. Advise and support managers on employment matters, including disciplinary actions, remuneration, terminations, and grievance handling. Promote cultural awareness and diversity initiatives within the organization. Champion and encourage the Project’s values and behaviors across all teams. Ensure compliance with all North West Hub Alliance (NWHA) policies, procedures, and mandatory training relevant to the role. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, industry standards, and technological advancements applicable to HR practices. Foster a safe and respectful workplace by modeling appropriate behaviors and holding team members accountable. To be successful Certificate IV or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Demonstrated experience in HR coordination, administration, or a similar role. Working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems for data management and reporting. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across all levels. High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data handling. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information. Proactive and solutions-focused approach.
