Rooted in a proud legacy dating back to the 1940s, The Portsea Camp today is a thriving community of staff, volunteers and young people from across metropolitan and rural Victoria. Each year, we support over 10,000 children and welcome more than 250 volunteers. Through a deep connection to nature, social connection, outdoor adventure and trauma-informed care, we help children grow into healthier, happier versions of themselves—because every child deserves the chance to shine. THE OPPORTUNITY We’re on the lookout for friendly, reliable, and hardworking Housekeeping Team Members to join our casual pool and help keep The Portsea Camp running smoothly. As part of our Housekeeping Team, you’ll play a key role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all campers and guests. From cabins and bathrooms to shared spaces and laundry, your efforts help ensure everyone enjoys a comfortable and positive stay by the sea. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of something that makes a real difference. WHAT YOU’LL DO Perform general cleaning and sanitising of cabins, bathrooms, dining halls, kitchens, and shared spaces. Complete group changeovers, restocking supplies and ensuring rooms are ready for new arrivals. Support laundry operations—washing, drying, folding, and organising linen and supplies. Operate commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuums and high‑pressure cleaners. Manage rubbish removal and recycling across the site. Monitor and report maintenance or safety concerns. Collaborate with the wider Portsea Camp team to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive environment for all. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR You’ll thrive in this role if you’re dependable, proactive, and enjoy being part of a team that works hard behind the scenes to make magic happen.
