Job Overview Health and Security Assistant – Wentworth Hospital, Far West Local Health District (Wentworth, NSW). This role supports nursing teams through patient care, ward assistance, cleaning, portering and security duties. The position is permanent full‑time (38 hours/week) with a base salary of $66,209.91 plus superannuation and incentives under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. Responsibilities Undertake securing, watching, guarding and/or protection functions as directed. Perform cleaning duties as outlined in a daily schedule. Prepare and provide light refreshments and patient meals. Porter patients within the facility for ward transfers, appointments and other needs. Provide general assistance in the ward/facility including moving heavy equipment, making unoccupied beds and loading/unloading commercial‑type washing machines. Qualifications / Selection Criteria Previous experience in commercial cleaning, general assistance or a similar role. Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one within six months of employment. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and take directions from a supervisor. Willingness to work shifts on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
