The Opportunity We’re seeking an accomplished and commercially astute Construction Director – Queensland to lead Kokoda’s construction operations across the state. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a critical senior leadership role with full accountability for the end-to-end delivery, governance and performance of all QLD projects. As Kokoda’s senior construction representative in Queensland, you’ll set the standard for leadership, quality, safety, financial discipline and delivery excellence. You’ll partner closely with our Development, Design and Finance teams to ensure every project reflects Kokoda’s design-led vision, premium quality standards and commercial objectives. This role offers the rare opportunity to shape a growing regional portfolio while influencing some of Australia’s most ambitious residential and mixed-use developments. About the Role Lead and develop the Queensland Construction team, including direct oversight of the Senior Project Manager and broader project delivery function Own all construction strategy, planning and execution across the QLD portfolio Take ultimate accountability for program, cost, quality, safety and contractual performance Oversee feasibility inputs, buildability reviews, procurement strategy and tender processes Lead builder selection, EOI processes, commercial negotiations and contract finalisation Drive disciplined cost management, forecasting, cashflow and financial governance Represent Kokoda with builders, consultants, authorities, financiers and key stakeholders Ensure uncompromising design, quality, safety and compliance standards are upheld Oversee practical completion, handover, defects and post-completion asset management Provide high-level issue resolution, risk management and executive reporting About You 20+ years’ construction experience with at least 2–5 years at a senior leadership level Proven track record delivering high-value residential and mixed-use developments Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline Strong commercial, contractual and financial management capability Demonstrated ability to build, lead and govern high-performing multidisciplinary teams Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills Calm, decisive and highly resilient under pressure Highly detail-focused while maintaining urgency and momentum Willingness to travel between QLD and VIC as required Why Join Us?
