We focus on partnership with our community, helping people stay well when at home, and we are culturally inclusive and progressive. Particulars of the Role: We are seeking experienced Grade 3 Speech Pathologists to join our expanding NDIS and CHSP‑funded community services. You will lead the Progressive Neurological Disease (PND) Clinic, managing a dedicated Motor Neurone Disease (MND) caseload. This is a 12‑month parental‑leave backfill position, with potential for ongoing employment. Full‑time is the initial requirement, but part‑time applicants are encouraged to apply. In this role you will provide evidence‑based, person‑centred care to clients living with progressive neurological conditions and complex communication and swallowing needs. Flexibility to work across Northern Health sites and in various community environments, including telehealth, is required. You may be required to work after hours, during weekends or public holidays, or from home to meet operational needs. Compliance with mandatory training as per Northern Health policy is mandatory. Represent Speech Pathology in multidisciplinary and external partnership forums. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, quality care and professional development. Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience, with a strong background in community, disability and/or aged care settings. Advanced clinical skills in managing complex swallowing and communication disorders in adults with progressive neurological conditions. Demonstrated experience and understanding of low‑ and high‑tech AAC systems, including assessment, implementation and training for clients, carers and support staff. Experience working within NDIS and CHSP service delivery models. Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to support and supervise clinicians and students. Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong time‑management and organisational skills to manage a complex caseload and competing priorities. Experience contributing to service development, quality improvement or research projects. A collaborative and flexible approach to working across multidisciplinary teams and service settings. Commitment to culturally safe care and inclusion of CALD, LGBTQIA+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. Postgraduate qualifications or working towards postgraduate study in a relevant clinical or leadership area (highly desirable). Applications close 21 November 2025.
