Delivery Operations Manager – Janison The Selective Schools Program coordinates digital assessments for 30,000 students across 150 NSW venues annually through 5 high‑stakes test events that demand flawless execution. Each test day mobilizes invigilators to ensure fair, secure testing for students statewide. We're seeking an Operations Team Manager to lead a team of 6‑8 staff who deliver all operational logistics. You’ll own recruitment, training, rostering, communications, and test day operations. This role requires building robust processes, driving quality and timeliness, and managing real‑time incident response during critical test windows. You’ll have decision‑making authority over team operations within project parameters and accountability for a $1M+ operational budget. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your operational excellence directly impacts thousands of students and families. Duties & Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of 6‑8 operations staff, fostering team cohesion and high performance Build, document, and continuously improve operational processes and systems Ensure all team deliverables meet State Department quality standards and deadlines Maintain accountability for $1M+ operational budget Recruitment & Rostering Oversee recruitment of invigilators per test event, meeting target completion dates Manage all rostering activities using Deputy platform Ensure adequate coverage across 150 school venues for 5 test events Training Design & Delivery Oversee development of invigilation handbooks, SCORM courses, and in‑person training programs Ensure all training materials achieve DOE sign‑off by target dates Manage delivery of training to invigilators, achieving 100% completion by target date Quality‑assure all training content for accuracy and compliance Communications & Stakeholder Management Build and manage robust communication systems for large‑scale, event‑based staff engagement Manage ongoing invigilation staff communications and queries Liaise with Department of Education stakeholders, managing expectations and delivering to government standards Test Day Operations & Incident Management Design and finalize test day escalation and support model by target date Lead test day management across all 5 high‑stakes assessment events Oversee real‑time incident response and resolution across 150 venues Ensure less than 5% of incidents escalated beyond venue level Experience, Skills & Qualifications Proven experience managing operations teams (minimum 5+ people) in complex delivery environments Demonstrated experience working with government clients and / or high‑stakes, compliance‑driven environments Hands‑on management style with ability to balance strategic oversight and operational execution Experience building operational processes and systems Exceptional quality assurance capabilities and attention to detail Experience managing budgets in the $500k–2M range Proficiency with MS Suite Strong track record in large‑scale event management Proficiency with Deputy (rostering) and LMS training platforms Direct experience with NSW Department of Education Background in education sector or assessment / testing programs Experience with digital assessment delivery or examination logistics Track record managing government contracts or tenders What We Offer We are a purpose‑driven organisation offering a ’flexible’ approach to work.
