Role Overview The Radiographer is responsible for performing basic imaging examinations to produce images of the highest diagnostic value possible whilst using ionising radiations, both in general and fluoroscopic radiography. The role also requires ensuring compliance with the ‘as low as reasonably achievable’ (ALARA) principle whilst using ionising and non-ionising radiation to provide images. Responsibilities Perform basic imaging examinations, including fluoroscopic, mobile and theatre procedures, ensuring procedure preparation is adequate and follows correct protocol. Use imaging equipment and associated accessories safely, ensuring patient welfare and standard of care, avoiding hazards to self, other staff, patients, and equipment. Assess and monitor quality of images to ensure appropriate standards are maintained, confirm all image demographics and labelling are correct and ensure that image archiving is completed, with imaging available for viewing in the Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS). Ensure compliance with ALARA principles and the use of safe radiation practices. Support continuous improvement and adherence to imaging protocols. Qualifications Broad knowledge and competence in conducting a wide range of general radiographic examinations, including fluoroscopic, mobile and theatre procedures, and good knowledge of relevant anatomy, physiology, pathology, and imaging equipment. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, supporting team members and communicating effectively with respect and understanding. Good interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with junior staff, peers, supervisors, managers, patients, and the general public. Details of Appointment Multiple permanent full‑time, shift‑worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. Salary $73,834 to $111,364 per annum. The employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount, in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022. Salary Packaging Access to a salary package that includes living expenses up to $9,010, $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, and other benefits if eligible. Allowances Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum. Market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro‑rata. Benefits Travel and relocation assistance support up to $15,000 for overseas eligible appointees and up to $10,000 for interstate appointees. Professional development and accelerated pathways.
