Software Engineering Team Lead - Data Software Engineering Team Lead – Data Platforms Location: Sydney We’re partnering with a high-performing, technology-driven organisation operating in a fast-moving trading environment to hire an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to help lead the evolution of a large-scale data platform . This role blends hands-on engineering and technical leadership , with responsibility for systems that underpin analytics, research, and real-time decision-making across the business. What you’ll be doing Leading and developing a small team of engineers working on shared data platform infrastructure Owning the delivery and technical direction of core data systems used across engineering and analytics teams Shaping how data is ingested, stored, accessed, and governed at scale Working closely with stakeholders to prioritise platform improvements and roadmap items Contributing hands‑on to architecture, system design, and production code Driving strong engineering standards around reliability, scalability, and quality What they’re looking for Strong background as a software engineer building production‑grade systems Experience leading or mentoring engineers in a delivery-focused environment Solid understanding of distributed systems and platform fundamentals Good intuition for how data is produced, moved, stored, and consumed at scale Comfortable owning systems end-to-end and making pragmatic technical decisions Nice to have Exposure to financial services, trading, or other performance-critical environments Experience working with data platforms, pipelines, or shared infrastructure Familiarity with security, access controls, or data governance concept Why this role Genuine ownership over business‑critical data infrastructure Complex, real-world problems at meaningful scale High technical bar and strong engineering culture Competitive compensation, bonus potential, and relocation support We have lots of exciting opportunities across the trading space, so even if this role isn't exactly aligned, please get in touch to hear about some of the exciting opportunities we have here at Tribus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
