Deputy Links Manager British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) Hesketh Golf Club, Southport, England Position: Deputy Links Manager Location: Hesketh Golf Club – Southport – Northern Employment type: Full‑time About the Role Reporting to the Links Manager, the Deputy Links Manager will support the greenkeeping team and oversee all aspects of course presentation, preparation, playability and development. The role involves strategic planning for course development, transformation, long‑term maintenance, fleet management and project delivery. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Assist in leading and developing the greenkeepers and artisans. Maintenance Planning: Create and deliver effective course maintenance and preparation schedules. Machinery Management: Operate and maintain machinery to the highest safety and performance standards. Course Development: Collaborate on long‑term improvement plans. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure health, safety and environmental regulations are met. Course Monitoring: Adapt maintenance to weather, seasons and play demands. Staff Mentoring: Support and upskill team members through development plans. Communication: Maintain clear communication with management, staff and membership. Liaison: Meet regularly with other departments to coordinate course preparation. What We’re Looking For Proven managerial experience or Deputy Golf Course Manager role. Strong leadership and people management skills. Ability to maintain exceptional course condition. Qualifications: Level 3 or similar; PA1, PA2, PA6 spraying certificates and chainsaw certification advantageous. Passion for greenkeeping and a can‑do attitude.
