Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description Our valued client - Southern Coatings Alliances - based in Geelong, Victoria, is an Australian private company specialising in passive fire protection solutions and high performance industrial protective coatings and painting – is seeking a highly experienced PAINTER to join their dedicated team of professionals on a full‑time and permanent basis. The ideal candidate must be reliable, results‑driven, self‑motivated, and committed to positively contribute to the team environment. Responsibilities Read blueprints/instructions, examine and understand surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary. Prepare work areas, including setting up scaffolding and covering fixtures; mix, match, apply paint to various surfaces, and complete touch‑ups. Complete work to specifications; mix correct ratios for two‑part paint coatings and manage consumables and materials to avoid wastage. Select paints, varnishes, and stains for various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers; understand and achieve the specified wet film thickness using gauging tools; carry out minor repairs as needed. Use different tools and brushes to apply paints with attention to detail; work at heights and in confined spaces; erect scaffolding and ladders. Clean equipment and work areas; support teammates to ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with specifications. Qualifications Trade Certificate – Certificate III in Surface Preparation or equivalent (for Blaster/Painters). High‑Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift, plus trade qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certs). HR licence with EWP and Forklift Drivers Licence (MR or HR class). Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong communication skills; keen attention to detail; ability to meet strict deadlines. Self‑motivated, organized, punctual, reliable, with a strong work ethic.
