The Team The Regulatory Services Branch has embarked on a bold new strategic vision and is seeking dynamic, driven individuals to join them on this transformative journey. The Compliance Services Teams’ primary focus is to oversee investigations and enforcement activities associated with relevant legislation, local laws, and Council policies relating to building and development compliance, to ensure services are efficiently and effectively administered in a procedurally fair, accurate, and transparent manner. The Team is also responsible for the ongoing delivery of the Town’s pool barrier inspection program and the review and provision of advice relating to construction management. With relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in a similar field, alongside your proficient ability to interpret and apply legislation relating to building and development compliance, construction management and pool safety, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective resolution of complex investigations and the provision of detailed advice. If you are eager to shape and support a team, apply now What we are looking for The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of Friendly and Helpful, Teamwork, Creativity, Integrity, and Respect, and be able to demonstrate the following: Tertiary qualifications in compliance investigation, law, planning or similar, or extensive demonstrated experience in building and development compliance in local government. Highly experienced in the interpretation, administration and enforcement of legislation, local laws, and policies relevant to pool barrier safety, construction management and building and development compliance functions. Ability to coordinate, direct and develop a team to achieve measurable high-level customer service and key performance outcomes. Strong conceptual thinking, problem solving and negotiation skills to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver compliant, appropriate and sustainable outcomes. Highly experienced in the management of complex building, pool barrier and development investigations through the application of knowledge of legislation, including proficient knowledge and experience in criminal and civil court proceedings and evidentiary requirements. Australian working rights (birth certificate, current passport or current visa). National Police Clearance (no older than 3 months). Tertiary qualifications in compliance investigation, law, planning or similar, or extensive demonstrated experience in building and development compliance in local government, are essential for this role.
