Coherent Scientific Pty Ltd specialises in the sale and support of advanced measurement and instrumentation technologies including lasers, optical and atomic force microscopes, TEM & SEM products and other optics related equipment. We have supported our customers throughout Australia and New Zealand for over 35 years with our highly experienced team. We currently have a position available for a Field Service Engineer covering TEM / SEM products, including installation, service and repair. There is some flexibility in location (Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney). Training (both local and international factory training) will be provided to the successful candidate. Key Responsibilities Customer site installation and training Customer site troubleshooting, repair, service and maintenance Provide phone and email technical support to customers Work closely with customers, suppliers and the service team to ensure timely resolution of issues About You Minimum Bachelor's degree qualification ideally in Engineering (Mechanical / Electronics / Mechatronics), Physics or Materials Science. Candidates who hold a Masters or PhD are strongly encouraged to apply Previous TEM experience is highly regarded Hands on experience with complex lab equipment and systems, i.e. electron microscopes (TEM / SEM), sample preparation equipment, semiconductor equipment or other similar A strong understanding of electronics including being able to read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams through to the component level Knowledge and understanding of sophisticated scientific instrumentation Excellent technical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to enable isolation of the system fault at the component level for electronic, vacuum, and mechanical systems and repair Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be self–driven Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation to provide exceptional customer service Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English Demonstrated strong customer service skills with the ability to clearly train and explain technical information to users The ability to work well under pressure The ability to travel frequently throughout Australia and New Zealand as required A current driver's licence and passport is essential This position offers an attractive remuneration package and a laptop and tools are provided.
