Merewether Day Care Centre is a long-established, respected 20-place service, and we’re looking for a passionate, organised, and proactive Assistant Centre Manager (2IC) to join our leadership team. If you’re an experienced educator or room leader ready to take the next step—or an existing 2IC seeking a supportive, community-focused centre—this role is for you. You will play a key role in supporting our Centre Director across compliance, documentation, program quality, WHS, and daily operational standards. This position suits someone who enjoys a balanced mix of educational mentoring, administrative excellence, and hands‑on quality assurance—working alongside a small, committed team where your leadership truly matters. Key Responsibilities Support the Centre Director with daily operations and compliance Mentor and guide educators across the centre Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with families Oversee programming, documentation, and NQS/EYLF standards Assist with rosters, enrolments, and centre communication Driving as part of our pick up and drop off service Ensure a safe, inclusive, high-quality learning environment Coordinate and support regular local excursions that enrich children’s learning Step into the Director role when required About You Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA-approved) Strong understanding of NQS, EYLF, and NSW regulations Experience as a Room Leader or 2IC (or ready for the next step) Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Warm, reliable, organised, and confident in leading a team Current WWCC + First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certifications Why Join Us?
