Overview Store Leader (Airport) – Travelex Foreign Coin Services Limited, Sydney, Australia. Role purpose: to run a profitable Travelex business in line with our gold standards, philosophies and operational systems. The Store Leader is responsible for the overall performance of the assigned store and reports to the Airport Manager or Airport Team Leader. Also responsible for managing and growing the online fulfilment propositions covering retail stores and onsite ATMs within the airport. Responsibilities Grow sales and profitability of the store, measured by annual sales and profit growth, and increased online/ATM sales. Optimise the Customer Experience using the CARE selling model to maximise initial and future online sales; encourage customer reviews on Google, Instagram and Facebook. Effectively train, coach, and develop new starters and existing team members; confidently approach customers, identify needs, and introduce the online proposition for future transactions. Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant working environment (KYC error rate, spot checks, OCR, identify and escalate OHS/maintenance issues). Manage store roster with the Roster Specialist to ensure adequate coverage for trade, annual leave and sick leave. Provide outstanding, professional customer service; act with honesty and integrity to build high-trust relationships with customers and the team. Lead and motivate the team to achieve sales results and personal development goals; set and monitor daily sales goals and deadlines; assist team members in achieving their own goals. Lead by example in behaviour, attitude and sales performance; create an environment for success. Job Description Highlights Initial responsibilities include training, development, and people management; joint interviews with the Airport Manager/Airport Team Leader; ongoing in-store development; coaching on behaviours, sales skills and knowledge; identify store team needs and motivators. Product knowledge: demonstrate knowledge of core products and match customers with suitable solutions; identify training needs for team members. Store appearance: align with current marketing campaigns; ensure bright and shiny checklist compliance and correct POS/marketing materials are displayed. Problem solving & analytical skills: balance profitability with customer needs; analyse sales performance data and adjust strategies accordingly. Communication: conduct regular store meetings and monthly one-on-one sales meetings; ensure team attendance at Travelex events; set clear store expectations; effective cross-audience communication. Financial & business acumen: monitor incentives; execute business plan strategies; adhere to risk management policies. Time management & accuracy: highly organised; prioritise tasks; meet operational and compliance deadlines; follow reasonable instructions. Role-specific experience and skills: retail/cash handling, proven sales success, excellent customer service, numeracy, computer literacy, ability to work independently and in a team, attention to detail, flexibility for shifts/locations. General experience and personal qualities: integrity, positive attitude, relationship-building, performance-driven, problem-solving ability. Qualifications & Experience Retail, cash handling and/or banking experience; proven sales success and negotiation skills. Excellent customer service, strong numerical ability, and computer system proficiency. Ability to work independently and in a team; ability to handle routine tasks with accuracy and detail; flexible to work different shifts and locations as required.
