Our client is advertising an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to permanently join their team at a Public Hospital in NSW. The ideal start date for this position is 2 March 2026. Position details and benefits: Consultant Psychiatrist – Acute Care Services (ACS) & Mental Health Emergency Care (MHEC) Location: Lismore Base Hospital, Northern NSW Local Health District Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (part-time hours can be negotiated) Salary: Competitive (aligned with NSW Health Staff Specialist Award), with relocation assistance and visa sponsorship available About the Role Lismore Base Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to work across both Acute Care Services (ACS) and the Mental Health Emergency Care (MHEC) team. This dual role offers a unique opportunity to provide psychiatric care in both community and emergency settings, supporting patients in crisis and facilitating continuity of care. You will: Lead the multidisciplinary team in delivering psychiatric assessment and treatment for patients in acute and emergency settings. Provide consultation to the Emergency Department and inpatient units. Support crisis intervention, triage, and short‑term management through the MHEC model.
