The Role Join Australia’s most trusted and diverse news organisation as a Planning & Impact Lead in our Melbourne newsroom. This is a leadership role where you’ll drive impactful, original stories and manage innovative content production across multiple platforms. You’ll also play a key role in delivering high-quality 7pm News bulletins, supporting the Victoria Metro Editor and Deputy Editor with planning, logistics, and strategic initiatives. The Job Lead planning for multi-platform coverage, ensuring stories are relevant and impactful. Manage projects and change initiatives aligned with ABC News strategy. Oversee community engagement events and foster collaboration between Metro and Regional teams. Provide high-level planning and resource allocation for major Victorian events. Build and output news bulletins to the highest editorial standards. Mentor and manage newsroom staff, assist with recruitment and training. Position Description : About You You’re a strategic newsroom leader with a passion for impactful storytelling and collaboration. You’ll have : Highly advanced editorial skills and proven experience in senior newsroom roles. Strong planning and logistics management skills for daily news and special events.
