Role Description This role sits at the intersection of editorial, marketing and commercial , and is ideal for someone who loves words, ideas and execution in equal measure. Reporting into the senior editorial and commercial leadership team, you’ll be responsible for creating compelling copy and campaigns that inform, engage and move the Australian travel industry. The role of the Copywriter & Marketing Executive at Travel Weekly is to create high-quality written content, native advertising and marketing assets across our digital, events and commercial platforms. When you join The Misfits, you join one team . You’ll work closely with editorial, commercial, events and production, pitching in wherever needed to make the brand stronger. No job is too big or too small. Key responsibilities On a day-to-day basis, you will: Write and edit copy for Travel Weekly native advertising articles, event promotions and marketing campaigns Create branded and sponsored content that meets client briefs while staying true to Travel Weekly’s voice and credibility. Write copy to promote Travel Weekly events, awards, conferences, roadshows and special projects through compelling web and email copy Collate reports for the native and sponsored content campaigns that captures readership and engagement. Ensure your work achieves high levels of engagement. Work closely with commercial, editorial and design teams to develop strong campaign concepts and executions Manage multiple deadlines across overlapping projects in a fast-paced environment Stay across industry news, trends and conversations to ensure messaging remains relevant and authoritative Contribute to the wider editorial team where possible with press releases, news stories, features and bespoke editorial Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners Attend industry events Who are you? This role will suit a confident writer with strong attention to detail, sound judgement and a collaborative mindset. You’ll likely bring: At least 1-2 years’ experience in copywriting, marketing, PR, or editorial content roles Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone across editorial, marketing and branded content The ability to think conceptually as well as execute practically Confidence juggling multiple projects and deadlines Above all, a positive attitude, friendly style and problem-solving mindset Nice to have (but not essential): Experience writing sponsored or native content Experience working with events or campaigns Familiarity with Wordpress and EDM tools Why join Travel Weekly & The Misfits Travel Weekly is Australia’s most trusted and influential travel industry publication.
