Full Time role, located at Hallam – South East Nearly 2 weeks closure over Christmas/NY period Opportunity for growth and movement within the business Motherson Lumen, Australia is a market leader in sourcing, developing and delivering components to the OEM vehicle manufacturers in the global market. The primary role is to manage suppliers ensuring best value cost solutions, specification and quality adherence that complies with Lumen customer requirements, whilst supporting the Lumen Material management Team as required for the on time delivery of purchased products and materials to support the production line. Key Responsibilities Assist in identification, investigation of potential suppliers as part of a cross functional team. Handle Requests for Quotation (RFQ) from potential bidders. Initiate and execute cost reduction activities with supply base to achieve targeted savings. Analysis of supplier quotes for RFQ compliance and cost competitiveness and present to Manager for review and Approval. Support negotiation of terms and conditions. Place prototype purchase orders with successful bidder if required, ensure compliance with Coy requirements and regulations. Post contract award administration to ensure all contract terms are satisfied, including monitoring of manufacturing requirements, supplier delivery and quality performance and the implementation of any appropriate corrective actions. Support Lumen Australia’s Contract Manager, contractual matters with suppliers as required. Serve as a focal point for multiple internal customers for supplier related issues. Effectively work with suppliers and internal customers to improve supply chain. Manage/Assist procurement administration tasks as required. Support Operational Manager’s administration tasks as required. Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management in Automotive industry or other relevant business-related discipline (or working towards a qualification) would be highly regarded. Experience with sourcing within automotive industry f rom a manufacturing environment would be an advantage. Experience in procurement of electronic components would be an advantage. Knowledge of cost structure and cost driver concept preferred. Experience in purchasing (including Sub Contracts) and negotiation preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated experience of customer/supplier interaction. Attention to detail, decision making and problem-solving skills. Time Management and Organizational / Planning skills. Understand necessity of teamwork, initiative, influence, business competent, negotiation. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications. Experienced in the use of MRP systems. Ability to read, interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing process flow. Knowledge of off-shore souring and supply base would an advantage Knowledge of Incoterms and international freight. Proactive with a “can do” attitude, with strong customer focus.
