Senior Air Quality Engineer – RWDI Join the Senior Air Quality Engineer team at RWDI, a global climate and performance engineering consulting firm that helps clients redefine what's possible by overcoming design and operational challenges while minimising environmental, user, and resource impact. Location : Brisbane, Australia Employment Type : Permanent – Full Time Department Air Quality Key Responsibilities Conduct air quality assessments for industry, buildings, infrastructure, and transport sectors throughout Australia Consult on technical questions from clients, project managers, and colleagues Plan and coordinate technical aspects of projects Supervise and assign data collection, modelling, post-processing, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of technical results Write technical reports and assist with proposal preparation Support business development initiatives for the air-quality team Lead technical roles in internal and external project teams to ensure technical excellence Provide technical leadership to improve capacity and capability Contribute to RWDI's global air-quality practice initiatives and share knowledge with international colleagues Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science discipline 8+ years of relevant experience, with proven expertise in air-quality dispersion modelling (CALPUFF, AERMOD; GRAL an asset) and meteorological modelling (TAPM, CALMET; WRF an asset) Full understanding of the current regulatory, planning framework, and technical guidance in NSW, QLD, or WA for air-quality assessments Demonstrated experience leading air-quality projects in NSW, QLD, or WA Proficient with engineering analytical tools, GIS (QGIS), ERP systems, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to act as the technical liaison between internal teams, external clients, and regulators Desired Skills & Attributes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong people and team management skills Organisational capability, decision-making and coordination across multiple projects Initiative and independent problem-solving abilities Leadership / mentoring success Attention to detail and commitment to quality Persistence to see projects through to completion Practical problem-solving and sound judgment Drive to continuously improve processes and efficiency Creative technical innovation Occasional travel Additional Assets Post-graduate degree or doctorate relevant to the role Knowledge of regulatory or planning frameworks in other Australian jurisdictions Programming skills (Python, R, Linux) Professional qualifications (e.g. CAQP, CPeng) Membership in air-quality associations or conference participation (e.g. CASANZ) Benefits Opportunity to redefine the possible Work with a "Top Employer" Salary range commensurate with experience Flexible office / homework setting Proactive and ongoing training, education, and learning opportunities Health and wellbeing allowance reimbursement (professional subscriptions / fitness equipment) Abundant career paths and opportunities for advancement RWDI endorses and practices the principles of equal opportunity employment.
