Join our team at GKB Head Office in Bunbury as a GIS Specialist. You’ll lead the management of our Cultural Heritage and Land Management System (CHLMS), support the Noongar Land Estate, and provide GIS technical services across land, environment, and heritage projects. Location Bunbury, with regular travel throughout the Gnaarla Karla Boodja region and the South West of WA, will be required. Hours Full time – permanent Key Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the CHLMS Develop and maintain spatial datasets and maps using ArcGIS and other GIS platforms Support land identification, tenure selection, and environmental projects Provide mapping and analysis for Cultural Advisory Committee briefings Deliver training and user support to staff and community members Ensure GIS data is accurate, secure, and compliant with relevant legislation Provide GIS support for heritage surveys and reporting Selection Criteria Essential: Tertiary qualifications in GIS, Spatial Science, Environmental Science, Archaeology, Geography, Planning, or related field; or equivalent experience Proven experience in GIS project management and technical proficiency with GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS) Strong understanding of land tenure, mapping, spatial analysis, and land-related legislation Understanding of Indigenous Data Sovereignty principles and cultural protocols Experience with data importation, integration, and repatriation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including training non‑technical staff Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing competing priorities Desirable: Experience working with Aboriginal organisations or within a Native Title context Knowledge of Noongar Boodja Trust, South West Settlement, Land Administration Act 1997 (WA), and Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) How to Apply Submit your resume and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria via SEEK.
