About the Role We are embarking on a major digital transformation, moving away from traditional on‑premises file storage toward a modern, cloud‑first collaboration ecosystem using Microsoft 365. This new role will help shape how we use SharePoint and related Microsoft 365 tools in the future. You’ll support decisions about the best platform for different needs, whether SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and help design and guide the way we use these tools so our digital workplace is secure, organised, and ready for the future. Key Responsibilities Support the design and rollout of our move from on‑premises file servers into Microsoft 365 (SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive). Build and configure SharePoint Online site collections, hubs, and structures, implementing metadata‑driven design for searchability and governance. Implement modern information architecture: metadata, taxonomy, retention, lifecycle management, and automation. Support the implementation of security, compliance, and DLP settings across Microsoft 365, including Purview. Develop automated workflows with Power Automate and related tools to reduce manual processes and increase productivity. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to align design with real‑world usage, ensuring adoption and usability. Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and scripting (PowerShell) to automate, optimise, and support the environment. About You Proven hands‑on experience delivering Microsoft 365 transformations – not just designing, but building and migrating into SharePoint Online and Teams. Knowledge of information governance, taxonomy, and metadata‑driven architectures. Ability to clearly explain why one solution should be chosen over another – backed by experience, not just theory. Practical skills in PowerShell scripting and automation for day‑to‑day administration and migration tasks. Awareness of modern capabilities such as Copilot, Microsoft Fabric, and AI‑driven automation. Experience implementing DLP, retention, and compliance policies with enterprise solutions (Microsoft Purview, or comparable third‑party platforms). Certifications such as MS‑500, PL‑200, or AZ‑900 are desirable.
