Partnerships Manager- Blak Fig , Frankston First Peoples Health and Wellbeing – Frankston VIC About Blak Fig and First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing Blak Fig is a social enterprise training café that opened in January 2025. Established by First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing (FPHW) to support the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal people across the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula region. Blak Fig provides culturally safe, meaningful employment and hands‑on training opportunities to Aboriginal trainees. Through practical hospitality skills, mentoring, and a supportive environment, the café aims to strengthen confidence, connection, and long‑term career pathways. As a social enterprise of FPHW, Blak Fig contributes to FPHW’s broader purpose of delivering holistic, community‑led healthcare and wellbeing services for First Peoples. About the role The Partnership Manager at Blak Fig Café bridges community impact with business sustainability. The role focuses on building relationships that bring financial support, visibility, and social value to the café’s purpose—whether that purpose is Aboriginal employment, training programs, community development, or social inclusion. This position reports to the Executive Officer. You will manage and support the Café Manager. You will work closely with them to ensure the café operations and partnership activities are aligned with the organisation’s goals. About You You are a relationship-builder at heart—someone who enjoys connecting with people, creating opportunities, and bringing ideas to life. You thrive in community settings and understand the importance of culturally safe spaces, for Aboriginal people. You are confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, from local businesses and education providers to government agencies and community organisations. You communicate clearly, listen deeply, and approach every interaction with respect and cultural humility. You bring initiative and creativity to your work. You’re comfortable developing partnerships, seeking funding opportunities, and shaping projects that support employment, training, and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal trainees. Most importantly, your values driven. You believe in the power of social enterprise, you understand the importance of Aboriginal self‑determination, and you want to use your skills to contribute to a space where culture, community, and opportunity come together. Roles and Responsibilities Identify, approach, and secure partnerships with businesses, NGOs, community organisations, schools, and government agencies and other organisations. Develop and implement a marketing strategy that creates profitable and sustainable business strategies for Blak Fig. Identify and apply for any funding opportunities for training and development outcomes for trainees and social enterprises. Maintain long‑term relationships with donors, sponsors, and collaborators. Serve as the primary contact for partners, ensuring communication is timely, strategic, and purpose aligned. Develop and implement sponsorship packages and partnership proposals. Strengthen the café’s presence in the local community. Support Blak Fig when Café Manager is on leave. Build local networks with job‑training programs, and community groups. Represent the café at community events, business forums, and social‑impact gatherings. Create campaigns with partners (events, social media collaborations, co‑created promotions). Select a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to deliver training pathways to trainees. Develop and deliver a Communication Strategy and social media presence. Other duties as required. Demonstrated experience in partnership development and community engagement. Experience working in and managing a café. Experience developing proposals, sponsorship packages, or funding submissions to secure financial or in‑kind support. Knowledge of culturally safe practices and an understanding of the social, cultural, and historical factors impacting Aboriginal people. Strong communication skills both written and written. ·Experience using social media, communications tools, or marketing strategies to support community engagement or organisational promotion. Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and take initiative in a dynamic social enterprise environment. Commitment to Aboriginal self‑determination and the values of community‑led solutions, cultural respect, and social impact. Experience working in a social enterprise, community‑focused business, or not‑for‑profit organisation. Background in hospitality, training, workforce development, or employment services. Experience supporting or coordinating training pathways, traineeships, or partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Experience delivering or contributing to communication strategies, brand building, and/or social media content. Experience with grant writing, philanthropic partnerships, or corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. Familiarity with the Frankston or Mornington Peninsula community, including local services, networks, and businesses.
