A07 Principal Policy Officer (90M ) Brisbane, Australia Salary: AUD87.02 - AUD93.18 per hour + + super We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced A07 Principal Policy Officer for a 3-month contract to contribute to our important work. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional with a strong background in policy, research, and stakeholder engagement, able to work effectively in a demanding and sensitive environment. Key Responsibilities As a Principal Policy Officer, you will: Lead the development, implementation, and review of policy initiatives. Undertake research and analysis to inform policy decisions and address systemic issues. Prepare high-quality, concise, and logical reports, briefs, and submissions for senior management and stakeholders. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders , including those with lived experience, to support and inform policy functions. Contribute to broader policy and systemic reform projects and initiatives. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues related to the policy area to develop timely and well-researched briefings. Work with a high level of confidentiality in a complex environment. Key Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have: Extensive experience in a policy development role, preferably at a senior level. Proven ability to manage complex policy projects from conception to completion. Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills. A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., in public policy, law, social sciences, or a related field).
