Camp Manyung are seeking a passionate Cook to join their team About Camp Manyung Camp Manyung is a recreation camp located in Mt Eliza on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, and managed by YMCA Camps. Catering to schools and groups year‑round, the team at Camp Manyung run a variety of programs and activities to suit every group, from snorkeling and kayaking to archery and raft building. Featuring a state‑of‑the‑art recreation centre, flexible and accessible accommodation and picturesque outdoor areas, Camp Manyung is the perfect place to explore the great outdoors. About the Role As Cook, you will work within the catering team to ensure all campers receive delicious meals during their stay, and that kitchen assistants are well supported and guided through their day‑to‑day duties. You will be responsible for: Preparing and providing food for campers, including the coordination of special diets Applying best practice as outlined in the camp’s food safety program Undertake general cooking duties, including baking and pastry cooking Upholding the values of the YMCA at all times Standard shifts are generally; 7am‑11am, 7am‑2pm, or 4:15pm‑7:15pm Monday ‑ Sunday depending on the group requirements. This is a casual role with an hourly rate of $36.59 p.h + super + Y Benefits. About You You are a cook who is looking for some flexibility in your workplace, and possesses strong interpersonal and leadership skills, which will allow you to build strong and positive relationships with campers, colleagues and other stakeholders. You will be well‑organised, committed to excellent customer service and have the ability to apply best practice as outlined in the camp’s Food Safety Plan and to ensure compliance with local government requirements and YMCA policies and procedures.
