Your day as a Principal Economist The Centre for Economic Evidence (CEE) has responsibility for Treasury’s economic stewardship and investment frameworks, as well as outcomes budgeting and First Nations economic wellbeing. Its functions include advising the government on the application of economic approaches to public investment; providing economic analysis; providing expert advice and guidance to NSW Government agencies; and coordinating across government performance reporting. Within CEE the Investment and Evaluation Policy Branch has stewardship of the NSW Government’s Investment Framework. You will lead and manage a small team to prepare whole of government frameworks, analysis and advice on interesting issues that impact day-to‑day life of people in NSW. You will lead qualitative and quantitative analysis and policy development and liaise extensively with internal and external stakeholders. This role liaises extensively with other areas within Treasury, with NSW government agencies and equivalents in other jurisdictions across Australia, and with external stakeholders.
