About the OpportunityAs a key member of the Quality Team, the Quality Assurance (QA) Advisor will provide Quality Assurance services within the In-Service Support Business Unit based in Cairns.What’s InvolvedThe role of the QA Advisor includes the following activities to support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the deployed Quality Management System (QMS):Conduct audits and report on compliance to Quality policies and procedures in line with the Austal Internal Audit Scheule.Document quality issues and performance measures for management review.Develop corrective actions from root cause analysis activities. Assist in the maintenance and deployment of QMS documentation.Assist with implementation of Non-Conformance trend analysis and develop QA Alerts as required.Support Business Unit Managers by undertaking quality investigations upon request. Essential Diploma or recognised equivalency certification in Quality Assurance, Lean Management, Engineering or Project Management.Previous experience working within a manufacturing, supply chain or project management environment.Well-developed planning and organisational skills.Well-developed level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.Desirable Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001, and of working within Quality Management systems as they apply to shipbuilding, defence, oil & gas, supply chain and/or manufacturing.Previous industry experience working in a Quality Assurance / Quality Control role.Internal auditor training.Strong numeracy skills.Developing analytical, problems solving skills and systematic thinking.Why AustalCompetitive compensation and benefits package.Professional development and training opportunities.A supportive and dynamic work environment.Opportunities for career advancement within our growing organisation.Our global team is guided by a universal set of values that describe the focus of our efforts.
