Overview Department of Education Victoria – Cranbourne VIC. Cranbourne East Primary School is located in the Hunt Club Estate, one of the fastest‑growing areas in the southeastern growth corridor. The school sits at No 2 Bowyer Avenue, Cranbourne East and shares a campus with Cranbourne East Secondary College, fostering a strong partnership. Adjacent to the school site are a three‑room kindergarten, a maternal health centre, the City of Casey sports oval and pavilion, and Marnebek School. The state‑of‑the‑art facility, built under the Partnerships Victoria in Schools Project (PViS) and opened at the start of 2011, was designed for 450 students but now serves 1,000 students, with 64.6 % speaking a language other than English at home. The staff team includes 61 teachers, six (part‑time and full‑time) principals, four learning specialists, two leading teachers, and a range of support personnel. The school currently employs a single‑teacher/single‑class model and a single timetable with four sessions and three breaks. Teaching follows the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0 (VTLM 2.0) and the Science of Learning principles. Phonics Plus, a structured synthetic phonics program, supports early reading development. The curriculum extends across core subjects and specialist areas such as Science, Physical Education, AUSLAN, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and STEM. Selection Criteria Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy, and experience responding to student learning needs. Experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies, evaluating their impact on student learning growth. Experience monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice and providing feedback to students and parents. Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement. Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, engaging in ongoing professional learning and reflecting upon practice. Role The classroom teacher provides planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Engaged in critical reflection and inquiry to improve practice. Depending on experience, teachers may undertake additional duties aligned with their salary range, qualifications, training and experience. Classroom Teacher – Range 2 Assist the school to improve student performance by contributing to school policies and priorities. Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach colleagues, supporting staff to expand their capacity. Provide expert advice on content, processes and strategies shaping professional learning. Supervise and train one or more student teachers. Assist staff in using student data to inform teaching approaches and achieve targeted learning outcomes. Classroom Teacher – Range 1 Develop skills and competencies to become an effective practitioner with structured support from higher‑level teachers. Plan, prepare and teach programs, manage classrooms, and maintain subject content and teaching practice. Participate in school policy development, project teams and co‑curricula activities. Support new entrants in induction programmes and professional learning activities. Responsibilities Direct teaching of groups and individual students. Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or programs. Undertake classroom teaching‑related and organisational duties as directed by the principal. Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions. Carry out non‑teaching supervisory duties as needed. Qualification Requirements Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching. For those who completed an Australian postgraduate initial teaching program or course of study on or after 1 January 2024, proof of satisfactory completion of a postgraduate accredited initial teacher education program. Graduates from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016 must also demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) or that this requirement is part of the ITE program completed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
