Lifestyle Facilitator (Disability Support) An interesting and unique person, who has complex health and disability challenges, together with her family, are seeking a new team member to deliver person-centred, holistic supports that promote her individual rights, wellbeing, and aspirations. Full training provided Students or career change applicants welcomed Small team, great workplace, family managed supports Make a real difference for a person’s future and overall wellbeing $39.11 / hour weekday base rate + superannuation + weekend/holiday loadings (employee role, not contractor) About Me I am a social and sophisticated lady, in my 50’s. My life has been filled with travel, music, dining out, and interesting people with stimulating conversation. I have an eclectic taste in music – Jazz, Opera, Blue Grass, Country and Western, and Classics of many eras. I listen to music that suits my mood and spirit. I am studying the music and lives of several of my favourite artists. My love of learning came early, as I pursued an interest in languages and enjoyed travel to London, Paris, the US and Malaysia. I live in my own, modern, 2-bedroom apartment with 24/7 support. I am house proud and like beautiful decor and fashion. I do not use spoken language, so people can underestimate my intelligence. My supporters understand me and appreciate my intelligence, my interests in others and my passion for learning. I have complex health issues and considerable physical and neurological challenges placed on me daily by my disability. However, I have goals and aspirations and a vision for my future. My Team I have a fabulous, self-directed team that supports me day-to-day (24/7), to live in my own home and enjoy the community. My team have interesting life-experience and different backgrounds. We have a good time together. My family have supported me to achieve many successes as well as navigate life’s ups and downs. They have created a personalised model of support that facilitates my diverse and enriched lifestyle. They know I am happiest when I have choice and control over my life, supported by people I have chosen, who are respectful and passionate about my gifts and goals. Responsibilities Support with complex medical issues, personal care, mobility, and communication (full training provided) Support with domestic tasks, including cooking within strict dietary requirements Support to get out and about and meet new people in the area Administration and documentation, using computer Qualifications Full training will be provided, so experience and qualifications in disability support work are NOT required. We prefer interesting and diverse people with good values. You need to have the right values about people with disabilities living a good life and being participating and contributing community members. Outgoing, confident person with interests, connections, friends, & family around the Moreton areas. Those who are good networkers in their life are naturals with what’s required. Good computer skills required for documentation and administration – Ideally you can use Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet research.
