About The Role Grampians Health – General Medicine & Subspeciality Medicine has an opportunity to join the General medicine team comprising four General medicine units. This role will enable participation in the on‑call evening and weekend roster, ward service roster and attending general medicine clinic weekly. About You You will be suitably experienced in the field of General Medicine and be seeking a rewarding career through your contribution to a large regional tertiary referral hub and spoke health service with a growing role in teaching and professional development of Interns, HMOs and Registrars. As a consultant physician you will be expected to work within your scope of practice and will be subject to Grampians Health Credentialing Committee’s jurisdiction. You will report to the Head of Medicine for operations matters and the Clinical Director, Medical Services for professional matters. The General Medicine Department The General Medicine Team at Grampians Health is an integral part of the health care team and sits within the Hospitals East Directorate. The General Medical Unit has approximately 120 inpatients each day across two campuses and seven general medical units. The Internal Medicine Service provides general medicine and oversees gastroenterology, endocrinology, neurology, rheumatology and obstetric medicine. Independent respiratory, nephrology, oncology, haematology and cardiology units provide weekday and on‑call service. General Medicine is supported by geriatrics, palliative care, rehabilitation services and a hospital-in-the-home service.
