Key Responsibilities Assess development applications and ensure compliance with planning policies and Council's strategic framework. Liaise effectively with stakeholders including the public, developers, and government agencies. Provide professional planning advice and support the preparation of growth strategies and policies. Deliver high-quality customer service in line with the Shire's Customer Service Charter. Promote and maintain workplace health and safety in accordance with legislation and Shire policies. Uphold the Shire's values, Code of Conduct, and legislative obligations in all work activities. Preferred Qualifications Working towards a qualification in Town Planning, or similar. Demonstrated understanding of how to assess development applications. Knowledge of the principles and practice of sustainable development. Demonstrated ability to provide clear advice and assistance on matters of a technical and specialised nature to the public and other officers in the department and organisation. Ability to set priorities and produce work that is timely, accurate and of a high professional standard. Sound interpersonal skills, including excellent oral, written and communication skills. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills and the ability to work in a team environment. A level of computer literacy appropriate to the position. 'C' class driver's licence.
