Position Overview The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for clinical-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry.
The primary responsibilities of this position will be didactic and clinical instruction in the pre-doctoral fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics curricula.
Other duties include research and scholarly activity, supporting the overall mission of the division, participating in university and college governance, contributing to the college's continuing education programs, and practicing in the college's affiliated intramural Dental Faculty Practice .
Performance Objectives
Successful performance is reviewed based on:
Promote evidence-based teaching skills in an education setting, proficiency in prosthodontics, and a strong track record of scholarly activity.
Demonstrate a passion for student education.
Apply advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Participate in teaching activities consistent with division goals.
Demonstrate effective teaching skills through student and peer reviews.
May serve as course director which includes preparation and distribution of course materials, management of lecture/laboratory schedules, and conducting and grading of all examinations.
Support a model for dental education that includes the incorporation of innovative technologies, interdisciplinary education and patient care, and evidence-based dentistry.
Provide interdisciplinary mentoring to students.
Demonstrate collaboration between college divisions.
Participate in college and/or university committees.
Membership in professional organizations and contributions to professional activities outside of the university.

Education and Experience Requirements
Required: Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent degree.
They also must be eligible for a regular or limited teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board.
Information on state dental licensure is available at dental.ohio.gov/Licensure/Dentist.
Desired: Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and experience in the application of advanced digital technology in dental education and an MS, PhD, EdD, or other advanced degree.
Board certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics is highly desirable.
