Our Parramatta store joined the community in April of this year, and has pride of place at the entry of the food court serving the full range of Black Star Pastry's signature cakes, specialty products, and first-class coffee from our partners at St Ali. About the Role We're looking for a Cafe / Store Supervisor to join the leadership team of our Parramatta store.This is a hands‑on role where you'll play a key part in shaping the daily customer experience and supporting a vibrant, high‑performing team. You'll be at the heart of our front‑of‑house operations - ensuring every shift runs smoothly and every customer leaves with a smile. You'll lead by example - coaching, training, and motivating our fantastic team to deliver the exceptional service Black Star Pastry is known for. As a hands‑on leader, you'll take ownership of service standards, team performance, and customer satisfaction. You'll be at the heart of the action, ensuring every shift runs smoothly - and that every customer walks away with a smile. Day‑to‑day, your responsibilities will include : Lead and supervise daily front‑of‑house operations. Train and mentor food and beverage attendants, offering feedback and guidance. Master our menu to provide excellent recommendations to customers. Ensure food quality and presentation meet our high standards. Serve all food and beverages professionally and courteously. Participate in leadership meetings and workshops. What We're Looking For : Strong barista skills and confidence in preparing high‑quality coffee A talent for mentoring others - you love to lead by example Passionate about the customer experience and product quality Ability to connect with customers and provide an exceptional customer experience in a fast‑paced environment Problem solving and critical thinking skills Demonstrated capability to multi‑task - your organisational skills will be a strength Positive team player with strong communication skills Authentic and down to earth with a genuine love of people Holds a valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to obtain one) Bonus : A love of cake About the Business Black Star Pastry opened its first boutique patisserie in Newtown in 2008 and since then we have grown into an institution with stores across New South Wales.
