Maintenance Technician

Job Description Permanent full time Based in Kalgoorlie, WA SGS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team in Kalgoorlie. This role plays a key part in ensuring our equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably in a dynamic laboratory environment. This is not a FIFO position, the successful candidate is required to be based in Kalgoorlie. Responsibilities Undertake breakdown and scheduled repairs to electrical and mechanical equipment Examine technical blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation Measure and lay out installation reference points for electrical equipment for sites Select required electrical cables, cut and connect wire and cable to terminals and connectors, ensuring safety protocols are followed Use electrical and electronic test instruments to trace, diagnose faults and repair them Repair and replace faulty wiring and defective parts Position and install electrical switchboards Connect electrical systems to power supply Test continuity of circuit Install, test and adjust electric and mechanical parts of all equipment, crushers, mills, extraction equipment etc. Troubleshoot problems and work with laboratory staff to achieve long-term solutions Analyze and identify areas of improvement for all equipment and conduct preventative maintenance Undertake projects to improve process and reliability of automated equipment Document and analyse all work to improve workplace efficiency Provide support to remote sites when needed Maintain EDB and update after scheduled or unscheduled maintenance Qualifications Good understanding of electrical equipment and some knowledge of mechanical equipment Experience in electrical cable installation and requirements Past experience of root cause analysis and delivering solutions to complex problems Ability to repair any piece of equipment in a routine manner Basic welding and fabrication skills Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team Develop self and others to achieve superior results Additional Information WHY WORK FOR SGS?
