Our client is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their national team and take the lead on Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) projects across Queensland and northern NSW. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity where you will combine design delivery expertise with project management oversight, guiding multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver complex infrastructure outcomes that truly matter to communities. If you are a seasoned Civil Engineer with a strong track record of DRFA design experience and a passion for resilience and recovery, this is your chance to step into a pivotal leadership role. What You’ll Do Perform the role of Design Manager on DRFA projects, leading delivery across all phases: Investigation (RADAR), Options Analysis, Preliminary & Detailed Design, and CPS. Deliver hands‑on design management and technical input, supported by civil, geotechnical, structural, and junior engineers. Drive quality outcomes, ensuring projects meet compliance standards, client requirements, and reconstruction authority objectives. Mentor and guide the ERM design team, fostering capability and growth across the group. Manage resources, productivity, and project performance, balancing technical and commercial outcomes. Engage directly with clients, prepare major project submissions, and cross‑sell DRFA opportunities across disciplines. Represent the business in industry events, forums, and panels, strengthening visibility and reputation. About You RPEQ Chartered Engineer with 15–20 years’ experience in civil engineering and design delivery. Proven track record leading complex, multi‑phase design projects with multiple stakeholders. DRFA experience across at least two disaster events (floods, cyclones, etc.) is essential. Strong working knowledge of TMR, TfNSW, and local government project delivery. Excellent leadership skills; able to pivot across multiple projects and coordinate large teams. Bonus: experience in asset management, client‑side project management, or business development.
