Advanced Trainee – Palliative Care A temporary, full‑time position (38 hours per week) located at Mona Vale Hospital, NSW Health. Salary is as per the Resident Medical Officers Award. Key Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day patient management in the Palliative Care / GEM Unit, focusing on quality, safety and patient flow. Deliver quality healthcare under supervision while developing a broad knowledge of palliative medicine and geriatric evaluation and management. Participate in advanced training in Palliative Medicine within a specialist palliative care service, achieving competence as required for Advanced Training under the RACP Chapter of Palliative Medicine. Qualifications MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible to register with the Medical Board of Australia. RACP advanced trainee (Palliative Medicine and other subspecialties), Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine trainee, Clinical Foundations in Palliative Medicine (RACP) trainee, Faculty of Pain Medicine trainee, Family Medicine programme trainee or as detailed above. Completed at least four years of residency since graduation. Current driver’s licence. Proven satisfactory clinical performance, supported by two current referees. Effective communication skills with patients, clinical colleagues and other staff. Commitment to personal and professional development. Professional attitude, flexibility and willingness to undertake after‑hours overtime, on‑call rosters and required rotations, including rural locations if applicable.
