This is a temporary part time 23 hours per week leave relief position until 29th June 2025 with the possibility of extension.

What you'll be doing This is an allied health position in an exciting acute hospital environment. This role assists the physiotherapy department in delivering care to the inpatients of Wollongong Hospital. .

Where you’ll be working

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

Wollongong is located an hours drive south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west. This role is a Category A role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.

For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

To obtain a WWCC clearance number, follow the instructions on the website of Service NSW, which includes completing an online application form and then attending a Service NSW Centre or a NSW Council Agency that provides Road and Maritime Services, to provide proof of identity and pay for the WWCC to be completed. Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.

Selection Criteria

  1. Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent work experience and a willingness to work towards certification.
  2. Demonstrated high levels of oral and written communication skills including the proficient use of health based technology
  3. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professionals.
  5. Current NSW drivers licence or equivalent.
