The Role: The Paediatric Diabetes Nurse provides specialist nursing care and education to children and young people with diabetes and their families. The role involves supporting diagnosis, ongoing management, and self‑care through clinical care, education, and emotional support. The nurse works as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote safe, effective, and family‑centred diabetes care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. You will need: Highly developed contemporary clinical knowledge in paediatric diabetes management and experience in the delivery of evidence based care within the practice setting. Demonstrated advanced interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with the relevant cohort, communicate with influence, resolve conflict with tact and diplomacy, and work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to the development and evaluation of services provided, and the review of clinical practice policy, procedure and protocols. Details of appointment: Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 32.68 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. In addition, the following allowance calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: Holds, or commitment to undertake, post graduate Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) accredited Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management. Member of ADEA. Holds, or is working towards, Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) status with the ADEA. Current Drivers License.
