The Executive Director, Energy Efficiency Target Reform Division is accountable for leading the development and implementation of policy settings, regulatory and legislative reforms, initiatives and programs products that support electrification and deliver energy efficiency and savings to Victorian households and businesses. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is an exceptional opportunity to lead the strategic direction and delivery of the government's flagship emissions reduction and energy efficiency initiative – the Victorian Energy Upgrades program (the largest energy efficiency certificate scheme in Australia). The role has three director level reports and leads a division of approximately forty-five highly professional and committed staff. Success requires developing key strategic relationships with key players in the energy and energy efficiency sector including business and industry, the program's regulator – the Essential Services Commission, consumer groups, and other government stakeholders. This influential role calls for demonstrated executive leadership experience gained in a complex organisation with significant financial accountability. You will ideally come with deep knowledge of energy markets gained in government and / or relevant industry environments. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and committed to empowering Victorians to access clean and affordable energy. A tertiary degree / qualification in law, economics or commerce, engineering or public administration is also expected. This is a fixed term position available for a period of up to 2 years. The work location for this position is Melbourne or Morwell with hybrid work arrangements available.
