Rehabilitation Volunteer

Minimum commitment: one 6 hour shift per week (8.30am - 2.30pm or 2.30pm - 8.30pm). Volunteers can undertake a fortnight shift, 8.30am - 11.30am or 5.00pm - 9.00pm. Rehabilitation shift after the full 12 weeks of competency training is completed. Volunteers will work under the guidance of the Hospital Manager and/or an experienced volunteer and are responsible for: Responsibilities Preparing food for a variety of animals Cleaning cages, vivariums, aviaries or other housing facilities Washing dishes, laundry, perches and equipment Sweeping and mopping of hospital facilities Weighing animals Assistance with handling large animals Record keeping Husbandry and enrichment maintenance Transporting animals to and from zoos or other wildlife organisations Volunteer Position Details Category: Animal Welfare Commitment: Regular - more than 6 months Type of Work: Working with Animals Training: On the job Time Required: Weekly: 8.30am - 2.30pm or 2.30pm - 8.30pm; Fortnight: 8.30am - 2.30pm or 2.30pm - 8.30pm (after 12 weeks training completed); Weekly: 8.30am - 11.30am or 5.00pm - 9.00pm (after 12 weeks training completed) #J-18808-Ljbffr
