Signwriter

The Signwriter is responsible for creating, producing, and installing signage and visual communication materials. This role combines artistic skills with technical knowledge of materials, printing, and installation processes. The Signwriter works closely with the design and operations team to ensure that all signage meets client specifications, brand standards, and industry safety requirements. Job Duties Design, produce, and install signage, including shopfronts, banners, vehicle graphics, decals, and digital displays. Prepare artwork and layouts using design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW) according to client requirements. Select and apply appropriate materials, paints, and vinyl for signage projects. Operate printing, cutting, and application equipment safely and efficiently. Conduct site visits to measure and assess installation requirements. Install signage on various surfaces including walls, vehicles, windows, and outdoor structures. Maintain and repair existing signage when necessary. Collaborate with clients, designers, and project managers to ensure accurate production and installation. Ensure all work complies with company standards, WHS policies, and relevant Australian Standards. Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in a clean, safe, and organized manner. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality signage work that aligns with client expectations and company standards. Follow WHS procedures, including safe handling of materials, tools, and equipment. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding project requirements. Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines. Maintain accurate records of job specifications, materials used, and work completed. Support continuous improvement initiatives in production, design, and installation processes. Skills and Qualifications Qualification in Signwriting, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field (Cert III or higher desirable). Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in signage production and installation. Strong artistic and design skills, with proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, CorelDRAW, or equivalent). Knowledge of signage materials, paints, vinyl, and installation techniques. Ability to interpret client briefs, drawings, and specifications accurately. Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and signage equipment. Strong attention to detail and precision in design and installation. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively. White Card and valid driver’s license preferred. Experience with vehicle graphics and large-scale installations advantageous.
