Technologies Teacher (Materials & Engineering Years 7 - 9) Scotch College has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time Technologies teacher to join our diverse, well‑resourced, and innovative Technologies team for 2026. The role will involve teaching Materials Engineering and STEM in Years 7‑9, and will initially be for the duration of 2026 with the possibility of extension. For the right candidate we can be flexible with a teaching load of between 0.6 to 0.8 FTE, with commencement in Term 1, 2026. Our ideal candidate will be an exemplary practitioner with outstanding levels of achievement in the Technologies Learning Area, regardless of experience. They will also be able to demonstrate their dedication and commitment to improving student outcomes and their ability to work collaboratively within a cohesive and motivated faculty. Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate will have: Qualifications in Technologies and successful teaching background in a combination of courses including Materials‑Wood, Materials‑Metal, Engineering and STEM. Comprehensive understanding of the Western Australian curriculum. Commitment to fostering the pursuit of creative ideas, project‑based learning opportunities, and innovative practical design activities. Ability to collaborate and explore new opportunities for innovation in teaching and learning. Knowledge of contemporary developments in design technology education and the ability to contribute to programmes. Proficiency with the integration of ILT into teaching programs. A high level of safety knowledge and awareness. Ability to create an environment of active and genuine learning. Exceptional communication, presentation, and teamwork skills along with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and members of the broader College community. Knowledge and experience of teaching Digital Technologies is also desirable but not essential.
