The values that underpin our company culture are the drivers of our ongoing success: Agile Solution focused Respect for all people Integrity in the way we operate What you will do in the role Primary Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization platforms Manage and optimize system performance, capacity planning, and scalability of core business systems Administer and maintain Active Directory, user authentication systems, and enterprise security policies Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring business continuity and data integrity Configure and maintain system monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability Lead infrastructure projects including system upgrades, migrations, and technology implementations Provide technical leadership and mentoring to IT support staff, including knowledge transfer and skills development Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation including architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and runbooks General Engage with the Dicker Data teams in a clear and professional manner Participate in training as required and maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies Promote open and mutually beneficial sharing of knowledge between the team and the wider business Conduct regular audits of the IT environment and implement continuous improvement initiatives Present a professional image at all times Take all reasonably practicable steps to maintain the health and safety of yourself and others, and to minimise risks Follow Dicker Data's policies, procedures and reasonable instructions at all times What you will need to succeed in the role Extensive experience in system administration including Windows Server and Linux/Unix environments Advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar platforms) Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, and network security Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar) Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and hybrid infrastructure models Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements Experience with monitoring and management tools (SCOM, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar) Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders Proven ability to work independently and lead technical projects from conception to completion Strong problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking with attention to detail Demonstrated initiative, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous learning Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, VMware VCP) highly regarded A highly competitive salary package depending upon experience Hybrid and sustainable working environment Staff only on‑site gym & weekly corporate fitness classes A selection of freshly prepared lunch options provided daily Free on‑site parking and electric parking stations A relaxed, modern office setting with smart casual dress Access to discounted banking, superannuation, and health and wellbeing offers via our corporate partners Company paid parental leave scheme Employee Assistance Program On site school holiday program for children of Dicker Data staff Only those with the legal right to work in Australia may apply for this position.Only short‑listed candidates will be contacted.
