About the Role We are seeking energetic Pet Care Attendants to join a passionate team of animal‑lovers at our Darwin Pet Hotel & Doggy Daycare located near the airport. These CASUAL roles will be offered 1–2 shifts per week on Saturdays and Sundays plus occasional afternoon shifts from 2 pm to 6 pm, with an expectation that the successful candidates are available for extra shifts during the school holidays and peak periods like Easter and Christmas. Shifts will be scheduled between the hours of 6.30 am – 6 pm with great penalty rates payable on weekends and public holidays. Key accountabilities : animal welfare cleaning customer service Successful candidates will be responsible for the provision of high quality pet welfare which includes cleaning kennels, feeding pets, basic washing / grooming, and enrichment / exercising of pets. Our Pet Care & Animal Attendants also provide excellent customer service when engaging with our clients at pick up and drop off. About You You are reliable, motivated, and love caring for animals, with genuine affection for cats and dogs. To be a high performer in this role, you will be: Available weekends and occasional afternoons from 2 pm to 6 pm. Have the flexibility to cover other unplanned absences at short notice from time to time. Experienced working in vet clinics, doggy daycares, kennels or catteries (HIGHLY DESIRABLE). Certified in animal studies and / or companion animal services (preferred). Prepared to jump at the chance to help others in your team. Able to work at a brisk pace and carry out tasks to required timeframes. Able to work independently, and willing to ask for guidance for more complex matters. Passionate about companion animals. A good communicator and positive person who enjoys teamwork. Committed to working safely and following Standard Operating Procedures. Willing and able to adhere to Hanrob Pet Hotels’ operating procedures and Work Health & Safety requirements at all times. IMPORTANT: This is an active and physical role working across the Pet Hotel and Doggy Daycare. The incumbent will be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions), and in close proximity to cats and dogs, on their feet for a significant portion of their day. They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals up to 50 kg on leads, communicate, speak, and interact with team members, customers, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the public in person, in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
