About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Lead to join our Intake and Brief Intervention Team within the Child Protection portfolio. With a base at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, this part‑time, ongoing role provides an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team supporting some of the most vulnerable children, young people and families in our community. As the Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in overseeing daily operations of the Intake and After‑Hours service, ensuring timely, high‑quality responses to Child Protection referrals. You will provide clinical leadership, shape service delivery, and drive continuous improvement across referral pathways, resources and practice. You will offer clinical supervision, education and skill development to Counsellor Advocates, while also delivering secondary consultations to Child Protection practitioners and partner organisations. Your leadership will support the team to meet KPIs, uphold contractual requirements, and maintain best‑practice standards. There is also opportunity to contribute to service innovation through tool and policy development, data analysis, and building the capability of both SECASA and Child Protection staff. The role also participates in the Intake and After Hours roster, including On‑Call leadership responsibilities. This position is open to Social Work & Psychology disciplines and requires you to have a drivers licence. Further information can be found in the supportive documentation below. Qualifications & Experience Social Work AASW‑accredited Bachelor or Master’s degree in Social Work Minimum 7 years’ experience as a qualified social worker Accredited Social Worker status (AASW) Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (or working towards) Psychology Current general registration with Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) Minimum 5 years’ experience as a registered psychologist Supervisor endorsement (or working towards) Postgraduate qualifications in counselling, clinical, or forensic psychology (APAC accredited) Evidence of participation in clinical research activities is highly regarded.
