Are you passionate about making a real difference in students’ lives? Our Student Counselling Team plays a vital role in helping students stay engaged and succeed in their education. As a Student Counsellor, you’ll provide short‑term, one‑on‑one support and act as a key referral point for students needing ongoing assistance. You will work closely with our Student Support team, teaching staff, management, and external agencies to deliver tailored solutions that meet individual needs. You’ll be the first point of contact for students experiencing challenges—whether academic or personal—and help connect them with the right resources to thrive. If you’re a natural relationship builder who can relate to diverse people, manage risk effectively, and collaborate within a small, caring team, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day. Key Responsibilities Create tailored counselling plans to support student success. Maintain accurate records and report trends to improve services. Assist with financial support options and eligibility assessments. Deliver targeted psychoeducational programmes in areas such as personal wellbeing, bullying, wellness and skills for study. Build strong networks with staff and external agencies for student wellbeing. About You Hold a qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling and/or Welfare, and be eligible to hold and maintain membership of a professional organisation such as ACA, AASW, MAPS. Have experience in student support within an educational setting. Be skilled in case noting, counselling, and referral for diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Be confident managing a range of issues, including personal, academic, career and crisis situations. Be adaptable, flexible and committed to ongoing learning and professional growth.
