Join the forefront of high-performance electric mobility. EBMX, in collaboration with CYC Group, is seeking a talented Firmware Engineer to help develop the next generation of electric performance systems. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about electric vehicles, embedded systems, and innovative control solutions. About the Role As a Firmware Engineer, you’ll work within our engineering team to design, develop, and optimise firmware for electric drive systems and related control units. You’ll translate written logic and performance concepts into efficient, robust, and scalable code, contributing directly to the functionality and refinement of our industry-leading motor controllers and BMS systems. Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and optimise embedded firmware for STM32 microcontrollers. Convert written logic and control concepts into structured and efficient functions. Work on Field-Oriented Control (FOC) algorithms and other motor control systems. Interface with hardware teams to support design, testing, and validation processes. Contribute to EV system architecture development, including motor, controller, and BMS integration. Support the ongoing development of diagnostic tools and data interfaces using Python. Assist with prototype evaluation, debugging, and production optimisation. Required Skills & Experience High proficiency in C and Python programming. Strong understanding of STM32 programming logic and embedded development tools. Experience implementing and tuning FOC algorithms for motor control. Ability to translate written logic into efficient, functional code. Experience in basic hardware design and circuit understanding. Familiarity with EV architecture, including controllers, motors, and sensors. Understanding of BMS and battery systems and communication protocols (CAN, UART, etc.) Preferred Qualities Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Hands‑on experience with testing and debugging embedded systems. Passion for electric vehicles and clean technology. Collaborative mindset and ability to work across software and hardware teams.
